Uploaded Information. Any material which is uploaded to
Billyard-Ink.com by a customer is considered by Billyard Ink to be the
sole intellectual property (IP) of that customer. Billyard Ink reserves
the right to remove information from such material so that (1) only
information required by Billyard Ink is stored at Billyard-Ink.com and (2) security
measures are ensured. Since, the IP is that of the customer, Billyard
Ink will not share this information with any third party
except for the express purpose of production of the service to the
customer on the behalf of Billyard Ink (for example, third party
companies may be used by Billyard Ink to print family charts and mount
them on placards). If the customer does wish to share their IP with
others through Billyard Ink, written permission must be presented by
the customer.
-
Customer Contact Information. Billyard Ink uses customer's
email addresses for two purposes:
- As a user log-in name
- As a product delivery mechanism for electronic products (emailing
a family tree chart electronically) or for notification of a product
delivery for a hard-copy product.
Billyard Ink never discloses these emails to third-parties for either
personal reasons or business reasons. Furthermore, Billyard Ink will
not use these emails in a bulk-email promotional contact list (as a
"newsletter"), unless explicitly permitted by the customer.
-
Cookies. Billyard Ink makes extensive use of cookies on
Billyard-Ink.com. The cookie stored to a customer's machine is only a
string of text which represents a unique indentifier. When a customer
accesses Billyard-Ink.com and provides this cookie to Billyard Ink,
Billyard Ink is able to determine what products the customer has
ordered and determine which uploaded file(s) belong to the customer.
Billyard Ink never uses cookies in any malicious ways, including
extracting any information from the customer's computer. Again, these
cookies are strings of text only and do not contain any malware,
spyware, or any coding of any kind meant to track a customer's actions
on their own machine.
- Q2. Why do I need to use cookies?
Cookies are a convenient way for Billyard Ink to keep track of where a
customer is in their order-process. The cookie on your machine is
simply a bit of text which represents a unique identifier. By
providing Billyard-Ink.com with this identifier, Billyard-Ink.com is
able to determine which uploaded files belong to you, what products
you have requested.
Cookies are particularly useful if when there is a network issue and
you lose connection with Billyard-Ink.com; in these circumstances you
do not need to start again by uploading your information and
specifying the details of your product.
As specified in Billyard Ink's privacy policy, Billyard Ink never uses
cookies in any malicious way, and neither condones nor implements the
use of cookies to extract information from a customer's computer.
- Q3. Why do you need my email address?
Billyard Ink asks the customers for their email address for two
reasons:
- As a delivery address for any product in electronic format.
- As a means of identifying the customer with any material the
customer may have uploaded. This is crucial, especially for the
genealogical charts. Billyard-Ink.com does use cookies for this
purpose, but cookies are stored on the customer's machine. If the
customer goes to Billyard-Ink.com via another machine where there is
no cookie, the customer can then log in using their email (and a
password) to establish their identity.
As stated in Billyard Ink's privacy policy, emails are not used
typically outside of these two functions.
- Q4.What do you do with the files that we upload?
Billyard Ink retains any material uploaded by the customer for a
period of one (1) year. After that, all such material is removed from
Billyard-Ink.com. A customer, at any time, may request the material
to be removed from Billyard-Ink.com.
